Subscription merchant accounts.

SaaS with trials, memberships, clubs, continuity billing. Recurring revenue is the easiest thing to underwrite and the easiest thing to lose to cancelled-recurring disputes. We place both sides of that equation.

The acquiring reality

What actually decides your file.

Cancellation UX is dispute control

Cancelled-recurring chargebacks (Visa 13.2, Mastercard 4841) are the signature dispute of this vertical, and a poor cancellation flow is their leading cause. Scheme rules require a clear, easily accessible cancellation path.

Trials invite misrepresentation claims

Free-trial-to-paid flows are the classic trigger for misrepresentation disputes (Visa 13.5), the hardest cardholder-dispute code to win. Clear pre-purchase terms and consent logs are the defense.

Involuntary churn is a payments problem

Reissued cards kill recurring charges. Account Updater (VAU and ABU) and correct MIT flagging keep subscriptions alive, and we set both up as part of go-live.

How we place it

The BZNpay playbook for subscriptions and digital.

01

Scheme-compliant billing

CIT and MIT flags, recurring indicators and stored-credential consent implemented to the letter of the scheme rules.

02

Descriptor and dunning optimization

Recognizable descriptors, soft-decline retry logic and Account Updater to cut both disputes and churn.

03

Dispute playbooks

Cancellation logs, consent records and prior-charge history packaged per reason code before you need them.

Prepare your file

What partners typically ask subscriptions and digital merchants for.

  • Trial and cancellation flow screenshots
  • Recurring billing consent records
  • Dunning and retry policy
  • UBO declarations
  • Churn and dispute record

Send what you have; we tell you plainly what is missing. KYB documents are requested after qualification, through a secure channel, and underwriting decisions rest with the acquiring partner.

Subscriptions and Digital questions.

What drives subscription chargebacks?

Mostly cancelled-recurring disputes (Visa 13.2, Mastercard 4841), driven by poor cancellation UX, and misrepresentation claims (Visa 13.5) from unclear trial terms. Both are preventable with the right flow design, and defensible with the right records.

Which MCC will we get?

Continuity and subscription merchants sit under 5968, with typical MDR of 0.5 to 3% and reserves of 5 to 10% in our catalogue. Pure SaaS can sit under 7372 at 0.2 to 1.5% with 3 to 7% reserves. The acquirer assigns the code of your primary revenue stream.

Can you help lift our approval rates on renewals?

Yes. Account Updater enrollment, correct MIT flagging, retry logic that respects soft versus hard declines, and BIN-level routing after go-live.
